Dambulla Cave Temple

Also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, this is a complex of five cave temples with over 150 statues of the Buddha, as well as wall paintings covering an area of 2,100 square meters. The site has been a pilgrimage center for over 22 centuries.

Dambulla is the best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka and provides invaluable insights into the religious art and history of the island.
